High-Definition Dentistry® Invisible No-Braces Treatment

September 1, 2008

If all you need is a little cosmetic improvement for a great smile and you would prefer not to have braces, the nearly invisible Simpli5 no-braces system may be the treatment for you. A quick evaluation will tell if you’re a candidate for this convenient . treatment and, if so, you can have a dazzling new smile in just a few months.

Here’s How It Works

If you are a candidate for the Simpli5 system, impressions of your teeth will be taken and sent to our laboratory, where a series of active appliances will be custom-made for you. One, two, or as many as five appliances will be made depending on our analysis of your particular dental alignment. Each appliance is made of lightweight, plastic-like material in the shape of your dental arches, using the impressions of your teeth. Subtle corrections are incorporated in each appliance to direct your front teeth to a more desirable position.

You will wear each appliance for approximately four to six weeks. The nearly invi_sible appliances are very easy to wear and will not interfere with speech to any significant degree. Few people will even know you have them on. In just a few months, you will be enjoying your beautiful new smile.

It’s So Convenient

Dr. Gerber will provide you with the appliances and directions for wearing them. Each appliance has colored dots to aid in seeing the appliances when they’re not in your mouth, and numbered according to the sequence of use. Each appliance progressively works to gently move your teeth in small, incremental movements, each getting you closer to your new smile. Vvhen you begin wearing the appliances, you may experience minor discomfort for one to three days. But as soon as the teeth begin to move to their new position, the appliances loosen and become more comfortable. The final appliance is designed with all the desired correction and then can be worn at night as a long-term retainer to prevent relapse of the teeth. In some more extreme cases, Dr. Gerber may suggest a “follow-up” appliance to finish straightening your teeth.
